in 1938, Kolacz graduated from the Warsaw Academy of Fine
Art. He has lived in Canada since 1978 and is a Canadian
citizen. Since 1963, his work has been exhibited in
Europe, Asia, the United States, and Canada.
Communication World magazine has named him one of the
world's ten most successful humorous illustrators. He has
been the recipient of numerous awards for his paintings
and illustrations by the Toronto Art Directors' Club and
Communication Arts. His work has been featured in
American illustration and Communication Business (USA),
Graphis (Switzerland), Idea Magazine (Japan), and Projekt
(Poland). In recognition of his work, Kolacz was elected
to the Royal Canadian Academy of Fine Art. Kolacz's work
is represented in private, corporate and public
collections, in Europe, North America and
Asia.
